An NFT Artist is a creative brave enough to enter into a new digital world in order to sell their work. The creative can be an abstract painter , a photographer , a performance artist or any other type of artist that wants to sell their work on additional marketplaces. The only requirement is that you must digitise your work , in layman’s terms , take a high res photo of the work you wish to sell as an NFT.
What is an NFT ?
Non Fungible Token or “New Form of Tech” as I have nicknamed it is an unique digital asset , an original artwork that cannot be edited once it has been minted on the blockchain . There is only ever one owner and all records of the financial transaction and exchange of ownership are written on the blockchain (fancy ledger in the sky ). This means everyone can see it and no-one can erase the transaction . There is no removing that transaction history due to the decentralised nature of the blockchain.
Why should I create an NFT then ?
NFT’s enable the creative to set the royalties on their pieces . This means that for the first time , governance is granted to the artist on secondary sales . No longer , do you sell a piece and wave goodbye to the profit made, when your work is sold to another collector . Now you get to set the royalty and receive funds into your wallet each time your work is bought and sold on the marketplace . The revolution is here . No more starving artist . Simply an artist who has opened their mind to the possibilities of using new technology to drive another income stream . Keep going with your real life art business but just stop , take a breath and think ..what if ?
